Terms, privacy and policies

Spondeo is run by WL Howard & Company Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company no. 16208699. Please send questions, problems, complaints to [email protected].

Spondeo lets you commit money to your own tasks. You choose the task, the deadline, and the amount. If your commitment isn't verified as complete by its deadline, you pay the amount you chose. That charge is the only price of the service: it is charged on failure, it goes to us, and money never flows the other way (except in the case of refunds).

Your card is saved on Stripe's hosted page (card details never touch our servers) and it's only ever charged as described above. The charge appears on your statement as SPONDEO.

Evidence you submit is reviewed by a person, and may be sent to Anthropic (the AI company) to aid the human reviewer. Don't submit photos you wouldn't want reviewed by a person. More in privacy.

Spondeo is currently pre-alpha and you must be 18 or over. You can close your account at any time by emailing us.

It's provided as-is while in pre-alpha. Our liability to you is capped at the total you've paid us. None of this affects your statutory rights. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales; if something significant changes, we'll update you by email or in the app before it takes effect.

We collect your email address and a password when you create an account; the commitments you create (titles, deadlines, amounts); the evidence you submit; and standard server logs. If you connect your calendar, we store the access needed to add your commitments to it.

Evidence is reviewed by a human reviewer, and may be sent to Anthropic to aid the human reviewer. Anthropic's commercial terms do not allow it to be used for training models.

Stripe handles payments. Card details are entered on Stripe's hosted page and held by Stripe; we store a reference to your saved card and a record of charges.

Data is shared only with the services that run spondeo: Stripe (payments), Anthropic (evidence review), and our infrastructure providers. We do not sell data or use it for advertising. Email [email protected] to have your data deleted.

The app is free. There is no subscription and nothing is charged when you sign up or save a card. You choose the amount when you create a commitment and are charged that amount (once per commitment) only if the commitment isn't verified as complete by its deadline. If you complete it, you pay nothing.

The charge is spondeo's fee for the service. It isn't held in escrow or paid to anyone else, and there are no other fees. Charges appear on your statement as SPONDEO. Card details are entered on Stripe's hosted page and never touch our servers.

Spondeo is for adults (18+). There is no prize and no element of chance, and you can never receive money from spondeo. It is not gambling and is not a betting service.

If you think a charge was wrong, email [email protected] and a person will re-review the evidence and the verdict. If the charge was mistaken it will be refunded in full to your original payment method.

You can close your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. You also have a statutory 14-day right to cancel after signing up.

Spondeo is a digital service, delivered through the Android app and the browser version at spondeo.app, available as soon as your account is active. No physical goods are sold; there is nothing to ship or return.

Email [email protected] about any charge or verdict you disagree with and a person will review it. You can also dispute a card charge with your card issuer.
